  We had a very bad experience, at Dentica, in Canonsburg, when my son was only 2. They insisted on putting him under to fill cavities, which they made me feel guilty about him having( who ever gave this guy a pediatric title never saw him with small children and their parents). I was given no other options, except that he will be in so much pain if I don't get it done asap. When I brought him back for the fillings, the anesthesiologist gave him a shot(to calm him so they could take him back) completely by surprise. Meanwhile, I was telling him he was good with shots and would have had it without issue. The whisked him away, with his eyes rolling in the back of his head, never came out with updates and made us take him out before he was fully awake(so he didn't have an negative memories..sure.) To top it off, they said just lay him on the floor of the van, don't put him in a carseat. And at that point I just wanted to get him home and out of there. It was a horrible experience. And to add insult to injury, we had to pay for the anesthesia prior to, never receiving the overage back, because of course they estimated too high. Honestly though that was the least of my issues...it was the experience of my 2 year old child at the time, and still is. So, I tell everyone I know not to go there and have continued to try reaching out to other affiliating practices. I was a first time mom, I wanted relief for my baby(because they really talked up the adverse effects of these cavities, um how about of this negative experience). I still kick myself all the time for not getting a second opinion...but I learned, fast, and luckily my child was okay. I have since taken my kids to a great pediatric dentist, who is very open and caring and kind. Who agrees that this previous procedure should have never been done in that manner. Trust your gut, get second opinions and don't trust this dentist.
